KPH

Called the KPH because it's about a quarter mile south of the Kingston Psychiatric Hospital. This is a unknown wooden steamer with a length of about 135 feet. She sits in about 65 feet of water, the hull is still intact with interesting items laying around . She has 2 huge boilers and her rudder and propeller are still intact. We suspect that she was scuttled sometime between 1925 & 1935 in a effort to remove derelict vessels from Kingston area harbours. Most of the vessels scuttled in that time were taken out by Amherst Island but she may have sunk before reaching her expected destination.

The KPH is a good novice or intermediate dive and is a good night dive destination. Buoyancy skills are a must when diving the KPH as she has a great deal of silt on her.
